TAX RESOLUTION TOOLS

Payment Plan

The IRS’ most popular resolution tool. This type of resolution strategy is best suited for taxpayers that have an ability to make monthly payments.

Offer in Compromise (OIC)

An OIC allows you to settle your tax debt for less than the full amount you owe. It may be a legitimate option if you can’t pay your full tax liability, or doing so creates a financial hardship.

Penalty Abatements

The fact is, you may qualify for a penalty abatement if you experienced hardships. The taxing authorities have the power to waive the penalties assessed on your tax liability.

Levy relief

Levies can be issued against bank accounts, wages, tax refunds and accounts receivable among other revenue sources. There are several sound arguments that can use to obtain a release of levy, have the money returned to you and establish a payment schedule that is manageable for you and/or your business.

Appeal

This particular function of the IRS operates separately of IRS Collections. Collection Due Process (CDP) and Collection Appeal (CAP) rights exist in every case. It’s never a question of whether a taxpayer will be given appeal rights.

Innocent Spouse Relief

Dealing with marital issues, separation or divorce is enough of a headache; you shouldn’t need to worry about your spouse’s (or ex-spouse’s) tax debt. Fortunately, the IRS has a relief provision for spouses who aren’t directly responsible for this debt.
